  • Schneider uses the term "participatory governance" somewhat differently, to refer to good governance as part of the participatory agenda (i.e. that governance should involve participation). He argues that good governance is participatory, in that it should include all relevant stakeholders taking part in joint decision-making; see Schneider, Hartmut (1999), "Participatory governance for poverty reduction" , Journal for International Development Vol 11, pages 521–534 .
