Sinead Hanks

Tessa Swithinbank

The Big Issue, 57-61 Clerkenwell Road, Farringdon, London EC1M 5NP, UK; fax: (44) 171-418 0428.

This paper concerns The Big Issue, a magazine that is sold on the streets by homeless people in the UK, and describes how it was started, who reads it and how the homeless are involved. It also describes the work of The Big Issue Foundation and discusses the growing number of street papers being produced in many other countries and the development of an international network of street papers.
