Implementing the new urban agenda: the case of Ismailia, Egypt

This paper examines the implementation of an urban environmental management process in Ismailia, Egypt within the context of what can be termed the "new urban agendas" that emerged in recent years which stress the need to combine economic, social and environmental goals and to involve all actors within a city in defining and implementing solutions. The paper also suggests factors that are important for effective urban management in all cities.
