Tijuca lagoon; evictions and human rights in Rio de JaneiroTijuca lagoon: evictions and human rights in Rio de Janeiro examines the eviction threats faced by the people living in "Barra da Tijuca" in Rio de Janeiro and the roles of the private land developers and the municipal government in promoting this eviction. It also describes how the Tijuca communities have organized to resist these evictions, including taking their case to the United Nations Centre for Human Rights and publicizing their situation internationally.
